Hello Readers , We start off with our very first post of the year with an innovative Internet Telephony Service – Spokn. Spokn, a product from a company named Geodesic is a Internet Telephony Service that is currently available only for the Windows Desktop , Windows Mobile , Blackberry and Symbian Phones as well as with regular SIP Devices. The Mac OS Version and an Iphone app are yet to be launched.

Well Unlike other Internet Telephony services out there, Spokn lets user get a phone number in any of the following countries

• USA
• UK
• Canada
• Denmark
• Austria
• Bulgaria
• Romania
• Poland

You can get a number at $1 per month and when anyone calls you on this number, it rings you directly. It’s just a local call for callers from that country (of the direct number) and a positive point is the incoming to this call is totally free of cost. You can recharge your account for 10$ using your credit cards.

Let’s get down to the prominent features of Spokn

Call Forking : This Feature lets you forward your incoming calls to all your mobile devices and Computers i.e If Spokn is installed on your phone and your computer. This gives you an advantage of remaining online from all the devices using the same ID and you can pick up your call from any of these devices. If you pick up the call from one device, the other devices would stop ringing.

VMS ( Voice Messaging Service ): This Feature lets callers send you a voice message of 20 seconds in case you don’t pick up your phone. The VMS can be delivered to your email id too.

Call Forwarding: Lets you forward a call to your mobile or your regular phone at a Nominal Cost.

Callback : Suppose you are not online and you wish to call someone in USA or any other country. You call a number ( USA Number ) provided by Spokn . Spokn won’t pick up the phone to save your bills. Instead it will call you back and at prompt you will be asked to give the number you wish to talk to. You will be connected to the Phone Number and you will be charged accordingly.

Signing up with Spokn is totally free of cost and you don’t need any Credit Card for that matter. As of for the time being, you will have to adjust with Windows Mobiles or Symbian Phones as there is no Iphone app as I  mentioned before.
