Seesmic Look : All Show, Less Work

Seesmic has launched a Windows only Twitter client with the support of Microsoft and termed it as Seesmic Look. In an event held at New York, Seesmic Look was launched. Built for Windows Xp, Vista and Windows 7, Seesmic Look is made only for the Windows platform.

Seesmic Look X-factor as I put it is the look itself. While lots of effort has gone it to give it a cool look, the cool look and the features just don’t seem to embed anywhere.

Main Screen

This is the screen that greets you when you start up with Seesmic Look. As said earlier, the look is really cool. Here you can see the recent trends bubbling up.

Your Timeline

This is how your timeline appears to you. To your right you can see all the controls in the vertical control panel. The controls are applied to the tweet that is on the top ( in this case that of @manan ). You can view the tweets in Alphabetical , Timeline or Playback mode. The problem with the playback mode is that the tweets disappear after sometime and there is no setting to change that.

Navigation Panel

This is the navigation panel. One new feature that is the channel which features some popular companies like Kodak, Red Bull. Clicking on the channel will show you tweets from the official accounts of the companies. There is no option to manually create a channel.

The Inbox shows up all your replies, DM’s. The interests section comprises everything from Tech to Humor. Clicking on them pulls up tweets related to the subject. It’s just like the Twitter Lists. This is something really helpful. Also pictures are embedded in Seesmic Look with the tweets as you can see below.

Seesmic Embed

Embedding Pictures in Tweets

Seek2Geek Review : Seesmic Look is just another example of  applications which try to look cool but cannot embed the features. Other Desktop based Twitter apps like TweetDeck and Seesmic have support for Multi User account Tweeting and Facebook which is not present here. The real motive of this application as @loic says is to help the masses explore twitter, but Mr Loic how can they explore Twitter, if they get confused with the application itself ??. Final word – All Look and heavy animations seem to do no good to this application. Features not well embedded. Download it may be to just have a look at it but i am pretty much happy with Tweetdeck.

P.S : Use any other Twitter Application, or do you disagree with me ?? Let me know in the comments section. Waiting for your comments.
